PURPOSE OF THIS POLICY

1.1 This Privacy Policy informs you, whether as a sender, recipient, delivery partner, or other user, of the types of personal data we collect, the purposes for which such data is used, and the legal rights available to you under applicable data protection laws. Specifically, this policy governs the collection, use, disclosure, storage, and protection of your personal information in the course of your interaction with our services, including but not limited to creating and managing your user account, requesting, sending, or receiving shipments, communicating with customer support, Browse or interacting with our website or mobile applications, and participating in promotional activities or surveys.

1.2 Our services are designed for use only by individuals who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect or process personal data from any person under the age of 18. If we discover that personal data has been inadvertently collected from a minor without appropriate legal consent or authorisation, we shall promptly delete such data and take reasonable steps to prevent recurrence.

1.3 This Privacy Policy operates in conjunction with, and may be supplemented by, additional privacy notices, service-specific disclosures, contractual agreements, or jurisdiction-specific data-protection terms. In the event of any inconsistency between this general Privacy Policy and a service-specific or region-specific privacy notice, the latter shall prevail with respect to the relevant service or jurisdiction.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect the following categories of information:

2.1 Personal Data

When you interact with our platform, we may collect personal data that includes, but is not limited to, your full name, shipping and billing addresses, email address, and telephone number. We may also collect government-issued identification documents such as residential address, email address, telephone number, expiry date, Government-issued ID (for driver verification), Profile photo (for drivers and riders), Emergency contact details, Feedback or complaints, and other relevant information. In addition to the above, your personal data may also be collected when you voluntarily provide such information, such as when you contact us with inquiries, respond to one of our surveys (where requested), register for access to the Services, or use certain Services. Furthermore, we collect shipment-related information, such as tracking details, shipment history, and proof of delivery, which may include your signature or other verification evidence. This data is provided by the user directly.

2.2 Automatically Collected Data

Doos Logistics does not collect device information, location data, or perform analytics on user activity.

2.3 Data from Third Parties

We may receive personal data about you from third-party sources in order to support the provision of our services and ensure compliance with legal requirements. These third parties may include payment processors and financial institutions, customs and shipping partners, identity-verification service providers, and marketing and analytics companies. All data received from such third parties is handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and is used solely for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy.

3. OUR USE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND OTHER INFORMATION

3.1 Processing Registration and Service Delivery

Doos Logistics collects and processes your personal data where it is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party, or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into such a contract. This includes creating and managing your account, processing shipment requests, generating shipping documentation, issuing payment confirmations, and facilitating the delivery or collection of goods. Such processing may also involve the use of your data by authorised agents, subcontractors, or service providers acting on behalf of Doos Logistics to ensure the proper administration of your account and the seamless provision of our services.

3.2 Aggregated and Anonymised Data

We may process your personal data in an aggregated or anonymised format for statistical and analytical purposes, including monitoring the performance and usage of our platform and improving our operational capabilities. Where data is aggregated or anonymised in such a way that you are no longer identifiable, it shall cease to be classified as personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3.3 Customer Experience and Support

In order to improve our customer service and maintain service quality, we may process your data to analyse patterns, respond to enquiries, and manage complaints. We may also use your information to request feedback, conduct satisfaction surveys, or perform internal quality assessments. Such processing is based on our legitimate interests in enhancing user experience, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms under applicable data protection law.

3.4 Direct Marketing and Promotions

Subject to your explicit consent, Doos Logistics may process your personal data to inform you of product updates, service enhancements, and promotional offers. Such communications may be sent via email, SMS, or other digital channels. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of any prior processing, by contacting our Data Protection Officer at privacy@logistics.dooscorp.com, or using the unsubscribe option in our communications.

3.5 Third-Party Marketing Partners

We do not share your personal data with marketing partners or third-party advertisers. However, if this ever changes, we will only do so with your explicit, documented consent. You will always have the option to opt out of such communications.

3.6 Third-Party Links and External Services

Our website or mobile app may contain links to external websites or third-party services. Please note that we do not share your personal data with such external parties. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of websites we do not operate. Users are encouraged to read the privacy policies of any third-party sites they visit through our platform.

4. OUR DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA AND OTHER INFORMATION

The company is not in the business of selling your information. We consider your personal data a vital part of our relationship with you and handle it with care and confidentiality.

However, we do share limited categories of personal data with trusted third-party service providers, only to the extent necessary to provide our services effectively and securely. These include:

4.1 Specific Third-Party Service Providers for Data Handling:

  • Flutterwave, Stripe, and PayPal - for processing payments and sending transaction confirmations or status updates.
  • Resend - for sending transactional and service-related email notifications.
  • AWS EC2 - for hosting our application backend.
  • AWS S3 - for secure storage of ID photos and face images.
  • PostgreSQL - our primary database, securely hosted in AWS EC2.
  • GoDaddy - for domain name services and DNS management.
  • Hostloni - Webhosting and Email services.

All such third parties are bound by confidentiality obligations and data protection agreements. We do not authorise them to use your data for any purpose beyond what is required for service delivery on our behalf.

We do not share your data with advertisers, marketing partners, or unauthorized third parties.

5. ACCESSING AND UPDATING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

5.1 Whenever you use our services, we aim to provide you with access to your personal information. If that information is wrong, we strive to give you ways to update it quickly or to delete it, unless we have to keep that information for legitimate business or legal purposes.

5.2 We aim to maintain our services in a manner that protects information from accidental or malicious destruction. Because of this, after you delete information from our services, we may not immediately delete residual copies from our active servers and may not remove information from our backup systems.

6. OUR USE OF COOKIES AND OTHER INFORMATION GATHERING TECHNOLOGIES

Our platform is primarily a mobile application and does not use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, or similar technologies. As such, we do not collect any browsing behaviour or device-level data through automated means. There is no cookie banner or tracking consent mechanism because no such tracking takes place.

7. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION

The internet is not a secure medium. However, we have implemented various security procedures, as outlined in this policy.

7.1 Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible.

7.2 We also use regular malware scanning as a protective measure on our site.

7.3 Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is accessible only by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive or credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

7.4 We implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order, or enters, submits, or accesses their information, to maintain the safety of your personal information.

7.5 All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

7.6 We restrict access to personal information to the company's employees, contractors, and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.

7.7 Data Storage and Security Technologies:
All text-based data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS cloud infrastructure. User photos and ID images are stored securely in AWS S3 buckets. Our systems enforce strict access control: the database only allows queries from authenticated users with proper authorization, and S3 buckets are private and files are only accessed via presigned URLs that expire after a set time.

8. UPDATING YOUR DETAILS

8.1 From time to time, and for security or operational reasons, the company may contact you to confirm or update the information you have provided. You may also voluntarily update your details at any time by logging into your account on the website or mobile app.

9. SALE OF BUSINESS

If Doos Logistics is sold, acquired, or merged with another entity, your personal information may be transferred to the new owner as part of the transaction. Such transfers will be subject to this Privacy Policy or an equivalent policy that maintains the same standard of data protection. We will provide notice of any such transfer and ensure compliance with all applicable data protection laws.

10. YOUR RIGHTS

10.1 You have the right to request that we do not process your personal data for marketing purposes. Where applicable, we will inform you — at the point of data collection — if we intend to use your data for such purposes or disclose it to any third party. You can exercise your right to prevent such processing by selecting the appropriate options on our data collection forms or by contacting us directly at privacy@dooslogistics.com.

10.2 Our website and mobile app may, from time to time, contain links to websites operated by our partners, advertisers, or affiliates. Please note that these sites have their own privacy policies, and we do not accept any responsibility or liability for their content or practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal data.

11. EXCLUSIONS

11.1 This Privacy Policy applies solely to personal data collected by the company in connection with the provision of its services. It does not cover information obtained through other channels or means outside the defined scope of our services. Specifically, this policy does not apply to any unsolicited information you voluntarily submit to us — whether through the Services or via any medium not explicitly intended for data collection. Such information may include, but is not limited to, content posted on public forums, user-generated content, suggestions, product feedback, or ideas for new features. All such unsolicited information shall be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary, and the company reserves the right to use, reproduce, disclose, and disseminate it without limitation or attribution.

12. YOUR CONSENT AND CHANGES TO THE COMPANY'S PRIVACY POLICY

12.1 By submitting your information, you consent to the use of that information as set out in this policy. Our services and business operations may change from time to time. As a result, it may be necessary for the company to revise this policy. The company reserves the right to update or modify this policy at any time without prior notice. Please review this policy periodically, especially before you provide any personal data. If we make any changes, we will post them on this page and may also post notices on other pages of our website so that you are always aware of the information we collect and how we use it.

12.2 We will also notify you by email if we make significant changes to this policy, giving you the opportunity to review and consent to those changes. Continued use of the service after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

12.3 Due to the global nature of internet infrastructure, the information you provide may be transferred across borders to countries outside Nigeria that may not have the same level of data protection.

12.4 Nonetheless, the company will comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and other applicable data protection laws. Any transfer of personal data that is undergoing processing, or is intended for processing after transfer to a foreign country or an international organisation, will be subject to the provisions of these regulations. By submitting your information, you consent to such transfers. We aim to comply with applicable data protection laws in Nigeria and USA.

12.5 It is also important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during the course of your relationship with us.

13. SECURITY

13.1 All information you provide to us is stored on secure servers. Any payment transactions are encrypted. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask that you do not share your password with anyone.

13.2 Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its security during transmission to our site. Any transmission is at your own risk. Once received, we use strict procedures and security features to prevent unauthorised access.

14. DATA RETENTION

14.1 We will retain your personal data only for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it, including satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in relation to our relationship with you.

14.2 To determine the appropriate retention period, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure, the purposes for which we process the data and whether those purposes can be achieved by other means, and applicable legal, regulatory, tax, or accounting requirements.

14.3 Data Deletion (Soft Delete):
User data is handled via soft deletion. This means the account is marked as deleted but not physically removed from the database. This preserves:

  • Technical integrity (e.g., shipment records remain linked to user IDs), and
  • Compliance in case of fraud, disputes, or regulatory investigations.

15. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Doos Logistics owns all original content, trademarks, software code, and materials provided on its platforms. All rights are reserved. Users may reuse or share certain marketing materials (e.g., promotional graphics or content) only with prior written consent. Any unauthorised use of our intellectual property is strictly prohibited.
